Floodplain Wine & Cheese Hike ~ Ashland Nature Center

Wednesday, July 31st 2024

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

PAST EVENT

Stroll the floodplain along the Red Clay Creek taking in the sights and sounds of this vital ecosystem at this special 60th Anniversary event highlighting and supporting DelNature’s work to ensure clean water. Afterwards, enjoy a selection of wine and cheese at the picnic pavilion at Ashland Nature Center. Home to DelNature’s main office, Ashland hosts tens of thousands of people every year for nature-based education programs and experiences – including over 100 campers daily during summer months! It also boasts an extensive floodplain area along the Red Clay Creek that is thriving with life and serves as habitat, classroom, flood control and water filtration, all in one. This guided hike will highlight plants, animals, and functions of the floodplain, and how DelNature is caring for them. Your ticket purchase benefits Delaware Nature Society and helps to ensure that these programs and habitats continue and thrive. Led by Joe Sebastiani.

Registration closes on July 30 at noon. Capacity is limited.
