Stream Watch Programs

We have several programs available for volunteers, and we'd like to offer you an opportunity to learn more and how you can participate in them. Click on any link to find out what we're doing to help protect our waterways.

Our Stream Adoption program allows you to identify a water body that you would like to include in Delaware Stream Watch. If you join this program, we'll train you in how to make and record water quality observations and how to use water quality test kits. We'll also supply you with replacement chemicals for the kits. Your participation helps provide a more detailed look at the quality of Delaware's waterways.

If you're looking for something that involves a greater level of detail than you might find in the Stream Adoption program, perhaps becoming involved in our Technical Monitoring program is for you. We'll provide the training and other support, and you'll help gather and report data that will be used by the US Geological Survey and DNREC in developing TMDLs for Delaware's waterways.

We also offer challenging and enjoyable Internships that bring you into a more professional relationship with the Delaware Nature Society's Stream Watch programs.

Why not take a look and consider joining us in our work to help protect and improve the quality of Delaware's waterways?
