Funding Your Field Trip

DELAWARE NATURE SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS
Through the generosity of many organizations and individuals, a limited number of scholarships are available to help students attend field trip or overnight programs with the Delaware Nature Society. Money is available on a first come basis for individuals needing assistance.

To apply for scholarship for a program at any Delaware Nature Society location, mail/fax/email a written request on school letterhead to the address below and include the information listed.

Required information:
1. School and contact teachers' names and date and time of the program.
2. The number of students receiving free or reduced school lunch that will be attending the trip.

The Delaware Nature Society will contact you as to the amount awarded.

AVAILABLE FIELD TRIP GRANTS

Captain Planet Foundation - The mission of the Captain Planet Foundation is to fund and support hands-on environmental projects for children and youths.

The Coca-Cola Foundation - The Coca-Cola Foundation Classroom Teaching and Learning grants support: innovative K-12 public school programs, teacher development programs, and smaller projects dealing with specific activities in the elementary and secondary classroom.

National Education Association Foundation - The NEA Foundation supports a variety of efforts by teachers, education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff to improve student learning in the nation's public schools, colleges, and universities.

Target Field Trips - Grants are available to cover all field trip costs and fees, including transportation.

Wal-Mart Foundation - The Wal-Mart Foundation provides grants in the areas of Community, Education, Children and the Environment. All requests for funding must be directed through your local Wal-Mart.

OTHER FUNDING RESOURCES

FlowerPower Fundraising - sell flowers online or in person. Associated with National Gardening Association.

Green School Project - Collect used ink cartridges, old printers, pdas, cell phones, etc. and send them in to receive a check.

Nestle Go Play - Schools can redeem Go Play! Points to help pay for hands-on educational field trips.
