Greetings Fellow Educators,
We are excited to be bringing you the Delaware Nature Society's 2009-2010 School Program offerings now available online only. As an environmental organization, the Delaware Nature Society (DNS) continues to seek ways to limit our impact on the planet. Publishing our programs online only allows us to greatly reduce our consumption of natural resources required for printing and distributing a physical document. Furthermore, this enables DNS to better communicate new programs and special opportunities to teachers, school administrators and members of the school community, such as those that are offered at our new facility, the DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC) located on the Wilmington Riverfront.
There are many new features that will be available through the DNS website, such as complete descriptions of all DNS program sites with addresses and contact information, information to help you fund your field experience, and downloads to help you plan and organize for your trip.
For 45 years DNS has provided students and adults with meaningful outdoor experiences focused on science, natural history, agriculture and cultural history. As we move forward with new sites and new programs, we will continue to offer high quality, hands-on, experiential education programming to students and teachers that complement classroom curriculum, are connected to state and national standards, and engage all learners. Whether you are looking for DNS staff to visit your school or you are interested in multi-day extended field experiences, the Delaware Nature Society has the opportunity for you! We look forward to seeing you and your students this school year!
Sincerely,
Helen F. Fischel
