Teacher Naturalist: Part-Time Environmental Education Instructors
Delaware Nature Society seeks part-time instructors to lead environmental education programs for children and adults from schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, community and recreation centers, faith-based groups, professional organizations, and others as well as individual adults, children and families. Scheduling is highly flexible and can include weekdays or weekends, and daytime or evening hours. Training is provided.

Teacher Naturalists are eligible to work at any or all of the following Delaware Nature Society locations:
- Ashland Nature Center, Hockessin, Delaware 19707
- Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, Milford, Delaware 19963
- Cooch-Dayett Mills, Newark, Delaware 19702
- Coverdale Farm, Greenville, Delaware 19807
- DuPont Environmental Education Center, Wilmington, Delaware 19801
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach environmental, farm-based, and cultural education programs
- Assist with program preparation and clean-up and with care and handling of program materials and equipment
- Attends appropriate instructor-training workshops
- Promote Delaware Nature Society mission, goals, activities, events and membership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience or experience working with children
- Natural sciences knowledge
- Outdoor recreation skills and experience (canoeing/kayaking, hiking, camping)
- Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to work a schedule that meets the needs of the Nature Society, possibly including nights, weekends and holidays
