PART TIME OFFICE ASSISTANT: DuPont Environmental Education Center
Provides administrative support to the Manager of the DuPont Environmental Education Center. Performs support functions related to general office operations. Runs errands that support daily operations. Processes program registration and answers inquiries associated with member programs, public groups and memberships. Provides customer service through answering phones and assisting walk-in visitors. Actively introduces visitors to membership and program opportunities.
Preferred qualifications
:
Associate degree or Business Training Certificate /Diploma
Technologically literate with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office & databases
Experienced administrative professional; dependable, highly organized with business maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude
Excellent office skills, organization, written/oral communication
Cheerful presence and people skills
Good written/oral communication, and public relations
Ability to work in an open office area with many interruptions
Self starter with skill in establishing priorities and managing workload
Ability to follow directions

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR: Natural Resources Conservation
Administers the Delaware Nature Society's Natural Resources Conservation Department and directly supervises program staff. Leads all conservancy projects including strategic landowner contact, acquisition of conservation easements, and management of field staff responsible for annual easement monitoring. Oversees environmental advocacy efforts including development of the organization's legislative agenda and delivery of public testimony. Manages citizen science programs including Stream Watch, Technical Monitoring, Riparian Habitat Assessment, and Backyard Habitat. Maintains the Delaware Nature Society's relationship with the National Wildlife Federation on all conservation issues. Serves as the liaison to Board Committees and maintains contact with state agency partners.
Qualifications
:
Master's degree (preferred) in biology, ecology, natural resource management, political science, land planning or other appropriate fields.
Five years experience in natural resource conservation with basic science and natural history knowledge and experience in fieldwork, natural resource protection, environmental advocacy and land trust administration
Knowledge of the political process and its application
Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and public relations skills
Good judgment and quick thinking skills
Warm, outgoing personality and ability to negotiate with good rapport
Willingness to work in a team environment
High dependability
Supervisory experience preferred
Basic computer skills
