Canoeing the Dragon

Explore the incredibly diverse Dragon Run Marsh by canoe as we watch for muskrats, turtles, and snakes at dusk. Paddle past a Bald Eagle nest and pull up to several active beaver lodges. Dip into the water with a net to catch fish, frogs, and insects. Bring a bag dinner packed in a waterproof container, a water bottle and shoes that can get wet. Canoes and van transportation provided.

Join this group of nature lovers, bug collectors, snake finders, and explorers. Look for wildlife and enjoy adventure activities such as hiking, fishing, cooking over a fire, and outdoor games. Explore streams, woods, fields, and wetlands searching for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and tracking mammals. Make new friends that are interested in the outdoors, like you. Time will be spent at Ashland Nature Center and natural areas and preserves in the area.
