Summer Education Internship

What: Applications are now being accepted for Delaware Nature Society summer internships. Internships provide experience in teaching/co-teaching children's classes for a statewide, nonprofit environmental education and conservation organization. Interns will:
  • Gain practical, professional experience involving a variety of teaching skills
  • Become familiar with and use many environmental education teaching techniques
  • Assist in week-long programs/field trips for children ages 9-15 such as canoeing, wildlife studies, ecology and adventure
  • Lead or participate in field trips
Note: Includes one week of training

Where: Ashland Nature Center, Brackenville & Barley Mill Roads, Hockessin, DE

When: Mid-June - Mid-August

Qualifications: Applicant must have completed junior or senior year in college and should be pursuing a career in environmental education, natural sciences or a related field. Knowledge of natural history, outdoor skills such as camping and canoeing, and experience working with children are highly desirable.

Stipend: $2,800; applicant must have his/her own lodging and transportation.
