RESERVATIONS & SCHOLARSHIPS

Please provide the following information when you contact us:
  1. Name of the program
  2. Number of participants
  3. The school's name, mailing address and phone number
  4. Name of school teacher and grade
  5. First, second, and third choices of dates and times
  6. Advise us at this time about children with special needs
Weather
Programs are conducted rain, snow or shine. In the event of severe weather, the Delaware Nature Society may cancel the program and every attempt will be made to reschedule the trip. If this is not possible, a full refund will be made.

Scholarships
Through the generosity of the Delaware Federation of Women's Clubs, PSEG, Wilmington Trust, Wal-Mart, Delaware garden clubs, and generous individuals, a limited number of scholarships are available for students attending programs. Money is available on a first come basis for individuals needing assistance. To apply for scholarship: On school letterhead, please provide the following information:

1. Teacher's name, date and cost of the program. 2. The number of students on subsidized lunch, or in the WIC program. Numbers should be listed separately. We will contact you as to the amount awarded.

Field Study & Outreach Reservations

Note: Contact us early for best selection of dates and times! Reservations are accepted after these dates depending upon availability

Group Size: Minimum 15 participants (Smaller groups accepted but must pay for 15)

Teachers/Chaperones: One/every 15 students required (no cost); additional chaperones welcome (no cost)

Costs
- Field Studies - see descriptions
- Outreach: $5/student plus a travel fee:
New Castle/Chester County - $20
Cecil/Salem/Kent County - $30
Payment: Full payment (non-refundable) for field studies or outreach programs is required 30 days prior to the program; payable by check, credit card or purchase order. There is a minimum charge for 15 students.

Overnight & Extended Day Reservations
Reservations open year-round, Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Costs
- Overnights - $35/student
- Preserves Overnights - $35/student
- Extended Day - $30/student

Deposit & Payment: 15-student equivalent non-refundable deposit is required to reserve an overnight or extended day program. Balance is due 30 days prior to the program. Payments by check, credit card or purchase order.

Cancellation: If the school group cancels within 30 days of the trip, fees are not refunded.
