Join us for a free, family-oriented Earth Day activity and help us find Delaware's State Macroinvertebrate - the Stonefly! Discover what the presence or absence of the Stonefly indicates to us about the quality of rivers and streams while learning what you and your family can do to help keep waterways healthy in Delaware. Join us for a tour of Bucktoe Creek Tract, a 285-acre property near Kennett Square, PA that is being managed to preserve and restore biodiversity. See restoration projects in practice and learn about native plant communities at this special property of mature woodlands, thickets, meadows, wetlands, ponds, and creeks, which is laced with trails. Enjoy hot tea and muffins after the walk. Program meets at the Bucktoe Creek Tract. If you are planning to attend, call William Ryan at 302-530-8526.

Explore the grounds of Ashland Nature Center while enjoying an interpretive walk with a Naturalist. Topics of the walk vary from week to week and concentrate on what is in season. A related video can be played upon request. No reservations needed.

Thursday Morning Birding at Ashland
Thursday Morning Birding at Ashland

Time: 8:00am (walk lasts 1 or 2 hours)
Led by Delaware Nature Society staff
Join us on a walk around Ashland's property for a look at the birds during May. Stroll through meadows, forests, thickets, and marsh in search of migrant, nesting and resident birds, learn identification tips, and meet other local birders. Learn about the wildflowers, amphibians, mammals, trees and natural history of the Ashland property as we go.

Wednesday Morning Bird Survey at Flint Woods Preserve
Dates: Every Wednesday Time: 7:15am
Led by Bill Halderman and Mike Weaver, Flint Woods Preserve Land Managers
Walk in Flint Woods Preserve and identify birds in an effort to survey species using the property. Enjoy the seasonal changes in bird populations, learn identification tips, and meet other local birders. Meet at the Flint Woods Preserve Maintenance shop. Call Ashland for directions 302-239-2334.
