Discover what the presence or absence of the Stonefly indicates to us about the quality of rivers and streams while learning what you and your family can do to help keep waterways healthy in Delaware. This program meets at Bucktoe Creek Tract Led by William Ryan, Land Manager, Bucktoe Creek Tract Join us for a tour of Bucktoe Creek Tract, a 285-acre property near Kennett Square, PA that is being managed to preserve and restore biodiversity. See restoration projects in practice and learn about native plant communities at this special property of mature woodlands, thickets, meadows, wetlands, ponds, and creeks, which is laced with trails. All Ages - Free Saturday Nature Walks Dates: Every Saturday Time: 1:00- 2:00pm Leader: Laurie Jones, Weekend Naturalist Explore the grounds of Ashland Nature Center while enjoying an interpretive walk with a Naturalist. Topics of the walk vary from week to week and concentrate on what is in season. A related video can be played upon request. No reservations needed. May - Senses of Spring June - Amazing Animals Adults - Free Thursday Morning Birding at Ashland Thursday Morning Birding at Ashland Dates: Thursdays, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 Time: 8:00am (walk lasts 1 or 2 hours) Led by Delaware Nature Society staff Join us on a walk around Ashland's property for a look at the birds during May. Stroll through meadows, forests, thickets, and marsh in search of migrant, nesting and resident birds, learn identification tips, and meet other local birders. Learn about the wildflowers, amphibians, mammals, trees and natural history of the Ashland property as we go. Adults - Free Wednesday Morning Bird Survey at Flint Woods Preserve Dates: Every Wednesday Time: 7:15am Led by Bill Halderman and Mike Weaver, Flint Woods Preserve Land Managers Walk in Flint Woods Preserve and identify birds in an effort to survey species using the property.
