Join this group of nature lovers, bug collectors, snake finders and explorers as we meet every month to explore nature and take adventures. Each month, you will get out in nature to look for wildlife and enjoy adventure activities like hiking, fishing, cooking over a fire and outdoor games. Explore streams, woods, fields and wetlands searching for reptiles, amphibians, birds and tracking mammals. See friends from summer camp and make new friends that are interested in the outdoors, like you. Sometimes you will be at Ashland, other times you will board a van and venture out to explore natural areas and preserves in the area.
Wizards and Lizards Overnight

Pack your wands and your sleeping bags! Our annual "Wizards and Lizards" overnight will be full of fun and surprises! Make your own "Book of monsters" and take moonlit hikes into the forest. Bring a wizard's dinner to swap. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included and will be served by prefects. Registrants will receive a list of what to bring.

Want to learn creative ways to preserve your memorable experiences with Mother Nature? Bring along your photographs from camping trips, overnights at the lodge, swimming at the lake, canoeing on the river, or any fun times in nature that you would like to keepsake. We'll have all the other archival quality materials you need to start a very special scrapbook with a natural flare that you will be able to add onto in the future.

Test your skills at a variety of target shooting techniques and skills throughout a fun day afield. Learn about the primitive weapons that Native Americans used for survival. After reviewing basic safety lessons, practice with recurve and compound bows as we explore the world of archery. Then we will head to the Ommelanden Shooting Range near New Castle to learn shotgun handling and shooting from professional instructors. Campers will learn how to shoot clay targets and also try the challenging archery course.

Deliver love to the pigs by giving them warm straw to sleep in; bring joy to the sheep and chickens by feeding them delicious grain; show love to cows by feeding them crunchy hay. Warm your heart with a delicious dinner and make a farm valentines craft to take home to the ones you love.

Freak out your friends and do the earth a favor by raising red wigglers in your kitchen! Become a vermicomposter and turn your kitchen scraps into vitamins for the garden soil. Build your own small bin, learn how to care for these compost creating creatures and how to harvest their "garden gold." Take a break with a healthy dinner and feed your new worms all of your kitchen scraps. Cost includes bin, worms, dinner and all materials.
