Coverdale Farm

NOTICE: Beginning March 24, Barley Mill Road will be closed at the Ashland Covered Bridge for approximately 80 calendar days to rehab the wood substructure. This closure is part of the overall rehabilitation of the covered bridge.

To reach Coverdale Farm from Brackenville Road during this time: Follow Brackenville Road to Old Wilmington Road. Go left onto Old Wilmington to Sharpless Road. Turn right onto Sharpless and follow to Route 82 (Creek Road.) Make a right onto Route 82, which will place you on Route 82 on the other side of the bridge. Follow Route 82 to Ashland-Clinton Road or Way Road as shown on map above.

Coverdale Farm at Burrows Run Preserve is only accessible during scheduled programs and events

From downtown Wilmington:
Take Rt. 52 north, pass Delaware Museum of Natural History. At traffic light next to Winterthur Museum, turn left on to Old Kennett Road (a church is on this corner). Continue through 4-way stop (Pyles Ford Road) and another 4-way stop (Owl's Nest Road). Be prepared immediately to take the next left! (Way Road). Turn left and go about 1 mile, look for Coverdale Farm entrance on right side.

From Concord Pike:
Take Rte. 141 South to Rte. 52 North (Kennett Pike) Travel north through Greenville. Pass Delaware Museum of Natural History. At traffic light next to Winterthur Museum, turn left on to Old Kennett Road (a church is on this corner). Continue through 4-way stop (Pyles Ford Road) and another 4-way stop (Owl's Nest Road). As you start to go down the hill, be prepared to take the next left! (Way Road). Turn left and go about 1 mile, look for Coverdale Farm entrance on right side.

From Newark:
Take Rte. 141 north to Rt. 52 (Kennett Pike). Follow instructions above.

NOTE: Access to Way Road from Rt. 82 (Creek Road) is NOT recommended for school busses or during special events (Native Plant Sale, Harvest Moon Festival) due to the short, narrow, steep hill near the junctions.
