Discover this beautiful 860-acre New Castle County-owned park that Delaware Nature Society manages to benefit biodiversity. Our Middle Run Valley Reforestation Project is a volunteer-driven effort to increase forest on the site and improve the quality of the watershed. Staff and volunteers have planted more than 50,000 trees and shrubs since 1991. Controlling invasive alien plants is also a major focus of the management of the park. A trail specifically constructed to accommodate birding has become a favorite destination among the birding community. Over 190 species of birds have been observed at the park.
Middle Run Valley Natural Area Park features 10 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails through forest, fields and rolling hills. The park trails adjoin those on the White Clay Creek State Park creating some of the longest trails in Delaware.
