Voice It! Action Alerts

The Delaware Nature Society's Voice It! Action Alerts will keep you up to date on federal, state, and local issues and give you the opportunity to "voice" your concern for the environment to decision makers.

Issues the Delaware Nature Society is currently following include:

  • Mid-Atlantic Power Pathway (MAPP) project. The MAPP project will stretch over 105 miles in Delaware and will likely impact fragile natural areas and wetlands.
  • Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project. The Army Corps of Engineers proposes to deepen the Delaware River from 40 to 45 feet potentially bringing heavily contaminated sediment to the surface and causing irreparable damage to the River.
  • Funding for Farmland Preservation and Open Space. The preservation of farmland and open space provides extensive benefits to native flora and fauna, as well as to air and water quality. With lower land values, the time is right for the state and other environmental entities to invest in this endeavor.
  • Legislation in the General Assembly
    • Senate Bill 59
    • Senate Bill 49
    • House Bill 138
    • HCR 7
The Delaware Nature Society will keep you informed on these issues and others as they arise over the coming months. Click the link to sign-up for Voice It! Action Alerts.
