Six nature preserves: Coverdale Farm Preserve, Flint Woods Preserve, Marvel Salt Marsh Preserve, Cedar Bog Preserve, Isaac's Preserve and Isaac/Greene's Preserve are owned and managed by Delaware Nature Society to maximize their value as wildlife habitat and environmental education resources. They serve as models to the region for conservation management techniques.

More lands that we manage

Middle Run Valley Natural Area, Ashland Nature Center, Abbotts Mill Nature Center and Milford Millponds are also managed by Delaware Nature Society to maximize their value as wildlife habitat and environmental education resources. They, too, serve as models to the region for conservation management techniques.

Our habitat management committment

Delaware Nature Society manages over 1,850 acres of land in Delaware and southeast Pennsylvania. We are committed to the protection and enhancement of natural biodiversity, environmental education, and stewardship.

Delaware Nature Society conducts surveys to support our conservation efforts of rare fauna and flora and their habitats. To guide land management operations, we develop yearly management plans for each site. We strive to reduce the impacts of invasive alien vegetation with as little disruption to natural communities as possible.

Renowned for our educational programming, we provide access to a variety of natural habitats by creating and maintaining well-defined trails and teaching areas. We also offer land management consultation to surrounding landowners.
