Join us every Wednesday for an informal day on the farm. Take a self-guided visit to see Coverdale's animals, dig in the vegetable garden and test your skills at the farm scavenger hunt. Bring a lunch to enjoy under the grand old oak trees! Story Time at 1 PM. Listen to a farm favorite story read by our fabulous farm staff.

Over a light brunch of fruit and waffles, storyteller Steve Childers shares his insight about the fascinating life of Ainsworth Abbott. Mr. Abbott bought what we now call "Abbotts Mill" in 1919 (when he was only 24 years old) and operated it by himself for over 40 years. After brunch take a guided tour of his historic old mill and learn what its link is with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

On May 9th, Celebrate our Eggmobile unveiling, help with our morning farm chores, and enjoy family friendly activities. Then, join us every Saturday for an informal day on the farm. Activities include: morning chores, feeding, watering, self guided tours of the farmstead (animals, garden, observation bee hive) and CSA fields. Additional cost for CSA produce plus U-Pick of herbs, flowers, tomatoes and hot peppers.

Learn about the unique history of the mill, dating back to 1795. Experience the rush of the water through the turbine and feel the rumble of the mill stones. Every third Saturday of the month: May through October.

Reel it in! Explore our nature center's fish, wildlife and amphibian exhibits, take guided canoe tours and hikes and participate in the fishing tournament.

The event is 100% FREE, whole event from 9 am - 1 pm, Saturday. May 16

Schedule:
- 9 - 11: Kids Fishing Tournament (registration for the tournament stops at 10:30 am, kids are encouraged to bring their own rod, we'll have free bait); snack time for registered participants from 10 - 12
- 10 - 12: Visitor Center open and Children's Corner (coloring contest with prizes, face painting, other fun activities)
- 11 - 12: Canoeing (Ages 8+)
- 12 - 1: Awards

Parking:
Abbott's Pond Road will be closed between Shawnee Rd/Rt. 36 and Lindale Rd/Rd 617. Parking available in our Morton field on western side of pond across the street from our main entrance. Use Griffith Lake Drive or Lindale Rd to access field parking.

Help end the farm day with afternoon chores. Roll up your sleeves and lend a hand feeding and milking cows, bottle feeding calves, feeding pigs, chickens, chicks and sheep. We'll clean water tubs, scrub the milking machine and sweep the barn. After chores cook and enjoy a hearty dinner straight from the farm.! Note: this program is recommended for families with children ages 6 years and older.

Members Only. Challenge yourself with learning the skills of bow and arrow as you become a better target and field archer. Test your abilities in fun archery games that will be sure to stoke your hunger for archery. Experience the unique link to Native American culture as we use "stick and string" to participate in a healthy outdoor activity that connects archers with nature. Instruction and supervision by certified instructors who are dedicated to coaching target sports. All equipment provided, or bring your own. Course will be four sessions, meeting at the Coverdale Farm Preserve.
