Discover the difference between tallow, beeswax, and modern candle wax while learning the enlightening history of candle-making. Get your hands waxy making rolled beeswax candles, dipped tallow candles and a few other types. Go home with little beacons of light for your winter nights which are hand crafted by you! Join Farm Educator Rob Wiest on monthly hikes from farm to field to forest and beyond. Discover native wildlife waking from winter sleep, observe the return of migrants, watch the frozen farm green, and mark the arrival of farm babies. Warm up in the farm kitchen by preparing seasonal snacks. Dress for outdoor adventure!

Join us for an afternoon of learning about raptors such as hawks, eagles, and falcons. This program is for the whole family, with multiple sessions happening at once. See a presentation on raptors to learn about their daily lives, featuring photos from DNS staff. Learn how to identify raptors in flight, see raptor taxidermy, and more.
