We are located on the Wilmington Riverfront in Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is 212 acres of tidal marsh adjoining the Christina River and is home to Bald Eagles, beavers, dragonflies, turtles, butterflies, wild rice, hibiscus, and other plants and wildlife.
We offer safe, fun and educational outdoor experiences for all ages and offer programs for schools and programs for groups such as teachers, community and recreation centers, faith-based groups, scouts, and professional organizations. We provide a wide variety of free programs, and we work to improve the health of the environment and community.
