Full-time Position

General Description

Manages registration for all locations of school and group programs and birthday parties, and serves as the liaison between registrants and staff. Performs administrative tasks for Ashland Nature Center, Coverdale Farm Preserve, DuPont Environmental Education Center and Abbott’s Mill Nature Center. Assists with visitor experience at Ashland Nature Center through interacting with visitors, phone inquiries and facility rentals. Promotes our mission by building strong relationships with the people we serve to grow membership, volunteerism, advocacy, program participation and financial support.

Primary Responsibilities


School and Group Program Registrar for Ashland Nature Center, Coverdale Farm Preserve, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center and DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC):
  • Handles inquiries for school programs and provides basic school program information
  • Handles inquiries and registration process of group programs, including contacting customers for program choices, participant counts, and balances due
  • Processes payments, refunds, scholarships and transfers for all locations
  • Produces daily reports, and generates tracking reports
  • Details all transactions for record keeping, marketing, and auditing
  • Sends confirmations and disseminates program information and communications
  • a) Works closely with program coordinators to insure success of program registration. Serves as liaison between registrants and staff

Office Management and Visitor Services:
  • Manages all facility rentals and lobby areas at Ashland
  • Handles phone calls and assists visitors at Ashland Nature Center and DNS Greets and directs visitors in the VSC to distribute information regarding memberships, programming opportunities. Stays current on program and administrative activities, as needed. Sells Nature Society logo items, books, videos and maintains supplies; tallies sales receipts; collects trail fees.
  • Assists staff with copiers, printers and scanning.
  • Supports with scheduling and various administrative tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent office skills including typing, organization, and written and oral communications
  • Excellent public relations skills
  • Proficiency with database entry and reporting, Microsoft Office, including WORD,ACCESS, EXCEL
  • Accuracy and attention to detail plus flexibility
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Associate or bachelor degree
  • Five years of experience
