Our Native Plant Sale features more than 300 rare, unusual and favorite varieties of native wildflowers, trees, shrubs, ferns and aquatic plants for all growing conditions, including drought-tolerant. Some are introductions from the nearby Mt. Cuba Center and many species attract wildlife such as birds and butterflies.

Whether you are just beginning your interest in nature, or wish to gain greater depth of understanding of local ecosystems, take advantage of this spring through fall course! Learn about the ecology of the Piedmont region and the flora and fauna that reside here during eight lectures and field trips led by experts. Each participant will complete a field and classroom notebook to become certified. School teachers can receive 60 hours of in-service credit.

Join our growing community of Habitat Stewards for this interactive 3-day training which will focus on establishing wildlife habitats in the residential garden and community. Topics include site analysis, native plant selection and sustainable gardening practice. Students each receive a Habitat Steward resource notebook. Our focus will be on tinctures…just one of the many methods our ancestors employed using plants native to where they lived to help those who were sick.
