Delaware Nature Society connects people with the natural world to improve our environment through education, advocacy and conservation.

About us

Founded in 1964, Delaware Nature Society works to improve the environment through conservation, advocacy, and education. We are state affiliate for the National Wildlife Federation and are renowned for our educational programming and advocacy which provides the tools for communities to take action and protect the environment through land preservation and watershed stewardship.

Delaware Nature Society manages over 2,000 acres of land, including four nature preserves, and operates four educational sites: Ashland Nature Center, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, DuPont Environmental Education Center and Coverdale Farm Preserve.

Currently, thousands of members support this important work and over 1,000 volunteers assist our core staff and interns so that the year-round programs continue to improve and grow.
